Lifestyle: Home Foliage

Something that I was determined to change in our home this year was the amount of, or lack of really, greenery there is.  I have countless pinspirations on my virtual board, but just have never gone all the way, so to speak.

A huge motivator for adding more plants to our space is the effect it has on the air, as well as a calming aesthetic it brings to the environment in which it surrounds.  I didn’t go overboard and in one case, I actually bought fake foliage!  But this was more for the aesthetic effect I was referring to.

We share our home with fur babies, so I had to make sure that, 1) These plants were non toxic and 2) They must be out of harms way.  Number 2 is especially true for one of our babes.  He just loves to knock everything down, but cat doesn’t?  In regards to toxic plants, I found some excellent resources about toxicity in plants and safe ones as well.

I’m not sure how many of you can relate to this, but I DO NOT have a green thumb at all.  Quite the opposite, actually.  My sister on the other hand, does.  Thank goodness for her because she got me thinking that my plantspiration board could become a reality!

So with my pinterest board, sister’s guidance and some research, I put together a few pieces that I have fallen in love with.  I think your home should be your sanctuary and adding relaxing pieces is essential!

What determinations do you have for 2018?  And was adding more greenery to home one of them?
